Health Plan Coverage

Chiropractic care is covered extensively by third party payers. These include worker's compensation boards, the automobile insurance industry, private health care insurers, large employers, the RCMP, and Veteran's Affairs Canada.

Provincial Health Plans

Chiropractic services are partially funded by the provincial health plans of Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

In these provinces, the scale of fees to be paid is set by negotiation between the provincial government and the association representing chiropractors in that province. The Canada Health Act, which governs Canada's insured health care services, is interpreted differently by provinces as to whether chiropractic is included as a service for coverage. Please contact the chiropractic association in your province for more information on fees and on the extent of provincial health insurance coverage.
